The Mountain Earth Figurines series (2021) emerged from Breathing Mountains (2018), a five-year journey along sacred mountains in Europe and Asia, including Mount Hua, Mount Heng, Mount Olympus and Mount Ararat. During these travels I collected local clay-earth, later shaping it in my Amsterdam studio into 125 small figurative sculptures.

Each figure retains the specific colour, texture and density of its place of origin. Forming a quiet collective installation, the works approach clay as an embodied archive, carrying geological time, physical contact and the memory of landscape.
