The clay figurine series of +/- 125 figurines literally derives from the project “Breathing Mountains (2018)”. In her studio in Amsterdam, Nausikaä produced the sculptures from actual clay earth that she collected during her journeys around the ancient mountains in Europe and China. The mountains; Olympus (GR), Ararat (TR. AM, IR) and the Great Five Sacred Mountains of China; De Wuyûe. 

The structure, plasticity and color of the clay soil differs per mountain area and creates a soft pallet of earthly colors in the work. Each figurine is unique.
