"Bird, Plane, Butterfly" 2025
Solo exhibition at galerie Caroline O'Breen, Amsterdam
Photography, ceramics.

For years, Antoinette Nausikaä has explored the rhythms of urban life, seeking moments of stillness within the ever-moving city.

In ‘Bird, Plane, Butterfly’ she brings together photography and ceramics, translating fleeting urban encounters into poetic, tactile forms.

Expanding on her earlier project ‘Breathing Mountains’ (2018), Nausikaä shifts from the sacred silence of nature to the dynamic interplay between culture and the organic in cities like Tokyo, Madrid, Paris, and New York. Her abstract ceramic plates reinterpret urban textures, while life-sized figurative sculptures introduce a quiet, contemplative presence to the space.

The exhibition coincides with the launch of her artist book ‘Bird, Plane, Butterfly’ published by japsambooks

On view at Galerie Caroline O’Breen until 8 March 2025.
